"Our goal is to retain as much as we can of the existing housing stock, the trees, the buildings with adaptive re-use potential and the existing organic pattern of the roadways."

Since acquiring the former CFB Chilliwack in 2001, Canada Lands Company (CLC) has had the great privilege of helping preserve Chilliwack’s military heritage.
In the spring of 2006, CLC officially opened the first phase of the Legacy Walk at our Garrison Crossing development. The Legacy Walk’s interpretive plaques pay tribute to the role the Canadian military played in Chilliwack’s history. In 2009, CLC opened phase two of the Legacy Walk.
For the last few years, CLC has also been working with retired and active military personnel in the Chilliwack community on a restoration plan for the All Sappers Monument. We are proud of this partnership, which has accomplished so much in a relatively short period of time. In 2009, CLC’s Western Region team participated in a moving ceremony held to mark the rededication of the All Sappers Memorial Park.
The award-winning community of Garrison Crossing is situated on the former Canadian Forces Base Chilliwack. Thoughtfully designed, the neighbourhood incorporates many features, including the Legacy Walk, which commemorates the area’s rich military history.
